Pearson Edexcel A-level English Language past papers and mark schemes
30 papers · June 2017 – June 2025
Each Pearson Edexcel A-level English Language (9EN0) paper on this page comes with both a mark scheme and an insert, 30 of each. The papers are grouped under Paper 1: Language Variation, worth 60 marks over 2 hours 15 minutes; Paper 2: Child Language, worth 45 marks; and Paper 3: Investigating Language, worth 45 marks over 1 hour 45 minutes.
Of the 30 papers, 27 are from exam series between June 2017 and June 2025, and 3 are specimen papers. The series are listed newest first within each paper, with October 2020 and November 2021 placed between the June sittings. Keep the insert open alongside the question paper as you work. Writing full answers under timed conditions and then comparing them with the mark scheme shows you where your marks are being lost, which is harder to spot when you only read through questions.
