Pearson Edexcel A-level History past papers and mark schemes

256 papers · June 2017 – June 2025

Options shape the Pearson Edexcel A-level History (9HI0) papers. Paper 1: Breadth study with interpretations has options 1A to 1H, Paper 2: Depth Study has 2A to 2H, and Paper 3: Themes in breadth with aspects in depth has options numbered 30 to 39. They range from 1A: The crusades, c1095–1204 to 39: Civil rights and race relations in the USA, 1850–2009. The list below is grouped by paper, then option, then series.

That adds up to 256 papers, each with a mark scheme and an insert: 230 from exam series between June 2017 and June 2025, and 26 specimens. Paper 1 and Paper 2 have 79 entries each, and Paper 3 has 98. Paper 1 and Paper 3 last 2 hours 15 minutes, while Paper 2 lasts 1 hour 30 minutes. Only the options you study matter to you, so go straight to those and work through their series from oldest to newest.

Reschedule, an A-level revision planner, can then spread that work across your weeks. It builds a daily plan from the specification down to individual subtopics, schedules each subtopic before the paper that examines it, and adds past papers with mark schemes for each paper.
