AQA A-level English Literature past papers and mark schemes
30 papers · June 2017 – June 2025
AQA A-level English Literature, specification 7712, appears here as Paper 1: Love through the ages and Paper 2: Texts in shared contexts. Paper 2 is split into two options, 2A: WW1 and its aftermath and 2B: Modern times: literature from 1945 to the present day, so make sure you open the option you are studying.
Paper 1 lasts 3 hours and is marked out of 75, while Paper 2 runs for 2 hours 30 minutes. There are 30 papers in total, 10 for Paper 1 and 20 for Paper 2 across both options; 27 come from 9 exam series, June 2017 to June 2025, and 3 are specimen papers. All of them come with a mark scheme, and 18 include an insert. Most files are hosted by AQA, the board that sets the papers, and some open on Physics & Maths Tutor. Try to practise essays under a clock, writing in full, then compare your work with the mark scheme. Start with the older series and keep the newest ones for the final stretch.
Reschedule is an A-level revision planner, independent of any exam board. It takes your subjects, paper dates and study hours, then builds a daily plan from the specification with each subtopic scheduled before the paper that examines it. Subtopics link to study material such as textbook chapters, Physics & Maths Tutor and Save My Exams.
